*Survivor** *is coming to the big screen.
Jeff Probst, who's hosted the reality competition since its 2000 debut, said Wednesday in an announcement on social media that the show is partnering with Paramount Animation on a new project that would capture "everything we love about *Survivor*." That means "big personalities, funny characters, surprising alliances, competition chaos, and, of course, a lot of heart," he teased.
"But this time," Probst continued, "the players aren’t humans. Imagine a big, fun, animated comedy about *Survivor* in the animal kingdom."

He said that he's "very, very, very excited."
"This is the perfect fit!" Probst said. "*Survivor*'s always been about watching different personalities learning how to live together while competing against each other, and setting it in the world of animals gives us a whole new playground to play with."
He ended his message by saying, "I can't wait for you to meet this new tribe."
In the caption, he wrote, "I'm so excited to be teaming up with Paramount Animation to bring you *Survivor* like you've never seen it before…in the animal kingdom! This will be an all-out comedy with animals competing for the chance to be crowned the sole Survivor. Let's go!!!!"
Animals are part of *Survivor* already, since contestants often encounter them wherever they're marooned, whether it be Thailand, Fiji, Nicaragua, or Cambodia.

While Probst was obviously pumped, he wasn't the only one interested.
"They have 50 seasons of characters!" one person commented of the possibilities.
Meanwhile, another fan added, "This is not the direction I was expecting Survivor to go. But I am curious about it."
There were calls for the show's unofficial mascot, Mark the Chicken, to be included.

*Survivor* alum Adam Klein quipped, "As nature intended… the snake will eat the rat,” referencing an iconic line that contestant Sue Hawk said on the first season finale.
Probst will executive produce the project, *Variety* reported.
In February, Probst, who's also the showrunner on the Emmy-winning series, told *** *that he's proud of the show that's become a TV staple.
"I'm incredibly proud," he said. "I can't believe I get to be a part of it. I love that it's become a family show. That was my number one goal, was to make this a positive show for families on Wednesday night that is safe and fun and inspires adventure. And I feel like we do that."
A new season of TV's *Survivor* is expected in the fall.
