Despite the offensive challenges the Denver Broncos have faced throughout the first four games of the season, quarterback Bo Nix still has faith in offensive coordinator Davis Webb.
"I'm real confident in him," Nix said in his postgame press conference following the Week 4 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. "I think when you look at the overall landscape, we've played four of the top teams in the league, and not easy for a first-time OC as young as he is to go against some of the, quite frankly, the best teams in the league.
"So, he definitely is going to continue to work to put us in the right spots. I definitely, this isn't necessarily the first time in my three-year career we've scored 14 points, but I think it's just overall something that we gotta continue to help him and execute."
The Broncos' documented struggles in the first half of games in 2026 have cast a cloud of doubt over the offensive philosophy run by Webb. The rest of the game could go either way, as Denver has once again established themselves as a second-half team. Although big plays have shown themselves early, there is little going outside of that.
Nix said the offense also is not making it easy on Webb when they put themselves on deep third downs, or behind the sticks.

"As players, you gotta put him in a better spot," Nix said. "Like he says all the time, like any play-caller, 3rd-and-long, not many plays on that part of the sheet, especially when you're in it over and over and over and over and over in the game. You run all those plays, you gotta figure out which ones you wanna come back to. They've already seen them. So, now you gotta make adjustments and so, we're just not making it easy on him by any means right now. So, we just got to help him.”
The questions about Webb are swirling more than ever after their second loss of the season, and likely won't quiet anytime soon, or at least until the Broncos offense puts together a complete-game performance against an above-average opponent.
How will Denver respond in Week 5 against the Los Angeles Chargers? We can only wait and see.
