CNN fans outraged as Blue Bloods legend refuses to speak bad on Donald Trump

CNN viewers have accused actor Tom Selleck of "lying" during an on-air interview.

The 81-year-old Blue Bloods and Friends star was asked what he thought of President Donald Trump and his policies during an interview with journalist Elex Michaelson. However, Selleck avoided taking sides, as he said he prefers to "stay out of the current political world."

Michaelson asked, "How do you feel about Trump and what he's doing?" To which Selleck responded, "Well, he's certainly a mixed bag. I stay out of the current political world. Why p--- off half the country when you're in the business of entertaining people?" It comes as Fox News fans turned on Donald Trump over Pete Hegseth's live housing gaffe.

However, viewers quickly responded to his words on X, as some people were left convinced the film star is MAGA.

One viewer said, "In the old days when people were in the closet they'd say, 'I don't talk about my personal life.' It was code. It's the same today only change 'personal life' to 'politics.' It's code for being MAGA."

Another person wrote, "Lying POS! He's a huge MAGAt! Reverse mortgage king! (sic)."

A third person chimed in, "He's a 100% maga. He was in the Detroit tigers tv booth a few weeks back. He all but said it."

A fourth person added, "So basically he's maga, doesn't wanna criticize trump and lose followers nor revenue."

Despite the speculation online, Selleck has never publicly identified himself as a supporter of Trump or endorsed him for president. During the 2016 presidential election between Trump and Hillary Clinton, he cast a write-in vote for former Dallas Police Chief David Brown.

Speaking during an appearance on The View after the election, he explained why he chose not to back either of the two main candidates.

"It was easy this election because I didn't support either candidate. I had some problems. So I wrote in my own candidate," the Hollywood legend confessed. "I wrote in Dallas Police Chief David Brown."

Reflecting on Brown's response to the tragedy, Selleck said, "That man showed such grace and leadership. I was just deeply touched by him. He didn't win, though."
