Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni does not know whether star running back Saquon Barkley will be able to play later this week when they face the Jacksonville Jaguars in London.

The NFL's London Games got underway last week at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with the Indianapolis Colts beating the Washington Commanders 30-13. Game 2 will see the Eagles and Jaguars head overseas to kick off Sunday's Week 5 action, with Philadelphia sweating over Barkley's health.

On Sunday, Barkley suffered a hamstring injury on his only carry of the day in Philadelphia's defeat to the Los Angeles Rams, with the 29-year-old unable to return to the game as a result.

It has been reported that Barkley's status is "week-to-week" by the NFL Network, a status which is worse than day-to-day. That designation suggests the Eagles will be without Barkley in London to face a surging Jacksonville side.

While it was also reported that Barkley's injury is "not considered to be a long-term injury," Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni was noncommittal about whether he will be able to go against the Jaguars.

"We'll see," Sirianni said, via Penn Live, after the Eagles' loss to Los Angeles. "These guys are going through different things with treatment and all those different things. We’ll see how everything responds.

"Have more answers for you probably Wednesday on that stuff."

He added: "But I know he'll do everything he can do to get himself back. Obviously, he's a great player and a great teammate, and we always need him on the field."

While the 2026 season is still young, it is not the first time this year Barkley has dealt with injuries. In Week 2, he suffered a stinger against the Tennessee Titans on Philadelphia's first play. While he returned to the game, he left later on, registering just four carries.

In Week 3, Barkley wore a neck roll for added protection, rushing for 82 yards on 15 carries in a Monday Night Football defeat to the Chicago Bears.

Philadelphia's depth chart will be tested on Sunday, with the team now without fellow running back Tank Bigsby after he underwent core muscle surgery, which will sideline him for up to six weeks.

That leaves Will Shipley as the only running back currently on the Eagles' active roster. Philadelphia has three running backs on its practice squad in Jaydon Blue, Dameon Pierce, and Carson Steele.

Sunday's game against Jacksonville will prove a tough one for the Eagles, who sit 2-2 after the loss to Los Angeles. Heading into the fourth against the Rams, the Eagles led 20-10, only to give up two touchdowns in the final quarter of the action at Lincoln Financial Field.

Meanwhile, Jacksonville has started the season strongly, with the Jaguars sitting atop the AFC South at 3-1, having defeated the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday 22-17.
