Hailey Bieber's father has spoken about why he left his profession at the peak of his powers to follow a very different way of life and career.
Bieber is not Hailey's original surname, with her birth name being Baldwin. She became Bieber after marrying singer Justin Bieber in 2018.
Hailey is one of the most well-known celebrities in the world and has recently been seen around the USA supporting her husband after he performed during the half time show at the recently finished FIFA World Cup.

Hailey is the daughter of actor-turned-preacher Stephen Baldwin who starred in The Usual Suspects, The Flintstones and The Beast. However, Stephen, the younger sibling of Alec Baldwin, has spoken about why he turned his back on acting and turned to preaching.
Outside of preaching, Stephen backed US President Donald Trump in both 2016 and 2024. He later acknowledged that his former community – Hollywood – hadn't always embraced his religious and political stances, though he revealed he had stepped back from the political arena.

Speaking to People, he explained that he had no intention of becoming the next Tom Cruise and that instead two events in his life triggered a pivot from the screen to churches.
The first was when his housekeeper at the time reportedly prophesied that he and his wife Kennya would rediscover their faith. The second occurred following the birth of his daughter Hailey. Stephen also has a second daughter, Alaia Baldwin, reports the Mirror.

After participating in various evangelical gatherings, Stephen discovered a skateboarding ministry, which proved to be his turning point. Describing the moment he felt he had found his "calling" to People, Stephen recalled the setting.
He said: "Down on the beach, they had built a skate park on the sand with plywood.
"And these funky, super committed, cool, tattooed, pierced skateboarders were there and they'd skate, stop, pick up a microphone and start preaching evangelistically, and like 5,000 kids would be around watching because of their interest in the skateboarders. I felt a calling."

Stephen went on to create a skateboarding video with a Christian message that sold 10,000 copies within six months, which sparked an unexpected proposition from a prominent church.
He added: "Then one of the bigger churches called and asked what it would cost to bring the skaters from the video to their church for a live event. So that's when I left Hollywood. I went to 125 churches over four years."
While Stephen has been politically active in the past, he recently announced on another podcast that he was stepping away from political commentary.
Speaking on Bill O'Reilly's We'll Do It Live in May, he said: "I am officially, Bill, so you know, I’m retired from politics." However, Stephen has previously linked his faith to his political views.
He said: "I had never been political until after I was a born-again. [I] kind of entered in politics just in the Republican Party as a conservative, in my understanding, which you gotta walk that walk a little bit before you understand what these things really are, you know, in the inner-workings of parties, you know?
"So, all of that said, I supported Republican people. I really went to a lot of the conservative stuff because most of my constituency in the six degrees of Kevin Bacon of my political experience was through Christian folks."
