In an unexpected gesture, a family member of Taylor Swift reached out with an apology to Kate Middleton. The pop icon’s sister-in-law, Kylie Kelce, asked for forgiveness from Catherine, Princess of Wales. The request was made on a recent episode of her podcast, “Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce.”

Following a royal title mix-up on her podcast, Taylor Swift’s sister-in-law Kylie Kelce issued a heartfelt apology to Kate Middleton.
For the unversed, Kelce had earlier extended an invitation to the Princess of Wales to join her on her podcast, Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce. While recording the September 24 episode, the mom-of-four put the offer, saying, “Princess Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, if you ever wanted to come on and chitchat about some field hockey and maybe kids. I don’t know. We got a couple things in common.”
She went on to joke that “our husbands chitchatted on the other podcast,” referring to Prince William’s July appearance on Jason and Travis Kelce’s podcast, “New Heights.” However, Kylie Kelce revisited the topic on the October 1st episode of “Not Gonna Lie” after becoming more familiar with Middleton’s official name and title.

She started by saying, “I love learning, so I was unaware that calling Princess Catherine, Princess Kate was offensive. I didn’t know that. Now I know that. Now I will proceed accordingly. I apologize for the mistake. I would like to refer to people in the most respectful way and how they feel respected.”
She followed it up with a message for the royal herself: “Princess Catherine or the Princess of Wales, I apologize. I will get that sorted immediately starting now.”
Furthermore, Jason Kelce’s wife also noted that she’d need to watch her language if Kate Middleton ever accepted the invitation to appear on her podcast. According to PEOPLE, the acknowledgement came after a commentator pointed out, “Princess Catherine is too refined and beautiful to be subjected to your cursing. You’ll need to clean up your act.”
