Netflix has unveiled a teaser trailer for Outer Banks season 5
The final season follows the Pogues "at their absolute breaking point following the tragic loss of JJ in Morocco"

Outer Banks is coming to a fiery end.
Netflix unveiled the teaser trailer for the drama's fifth and final season on Thursday, June 18, while announcing a summer release for the long-awaited last batch of episodes.
In the minute-long footage, soundtracked by alt-J's "Left Hand Free," fans get a first look at the aftermath of season 4's shocking conclusion, as well as a bit of dialogue from favorites including Chase Stokes' John B. Routledge.
"Let's get this son of a b----," he says.
The clip then cuts to scenes of knife-wielding, beach celebrations, police chases, gunshots and ends with a massive explosion, courtesy of Carlacia Grant's Cleo.

Per a log line from the streamer, season 5 finds the Pogues "at their absolute breaking point following the tragic loss of JJ in Morocco."

"Stranded far from home and mourning the heart of their crew, they've lost the Blue Crown and continue to face a gauntlet of familiar threats," the description reads. "With Chandler Groff (J. Anthony Crane) still at large, Dalia (Pollyanna McIntosh) and the Corsairs closing in, and the Kooks ensuring the Pogues have no home to return to, John B (Stokes), Sarah (Madelyn Cline), Kiara (Madison Bailey), Pope (Jonathan Daviss), and Cleo (Grant) must rely on their scrappy instincts—and an uneasy alliance with Rafe (Drew Starkey)—to keep from falling apart for good."
According to Netflix, their mission is now "a desperate race to reclaim their future and finally win the freedom they've been chasing since the beginning. It's the Pogues against the world as they seek to avenge their best friend and bring it on home…one final time."

Speaking with Netflix's Tudum, Cline said she still gets "surprised and shocked and excited" over the response to Outer Banks. The series debuted in April 2020, before wrapping its fourth season in November 2024. "The amount of love that people have for the show and continue to have means a lot," she said.
Starkey added, "The most gratifying feeling in the world is to see how people have connected with the show in a way."
