Raiders head scout: Treydan Stukes interview among 'favorite of all time'
About 18 minutes into the Raiders first Behind the Shield episode, they showed part of their interview with Treydan Stukes, who they liked enough to take with their pick at 38 overall atop the second round.
In that interview, Stukes was asked about his leadership style. This is what he said. Or at least the part they showed.
"I'll know that there's guys that have been playing for a long time. There's guys that have significant experience at this level and I will be a sponge to those type of people. I'm not going to pretend that I know anything more than anyone. I'll be in everybody's ear asking questions trying to get as much knowledge about what it takes to succeed at this level from people that have done it and lived it and coaches that have seen it. I think I will mesh really well. I'm an easy guy to get along with. I'm not a guy that does a lot of barking or anything. I'm just going to go about my process as I always have and earn the respect of the guys in the room."
The Arizona safety prospect also talked scheme. Leading Raiders director of college scouting Brandon Yeargan to offer some pretty strong words about his feelings on the safety prospect after the interview.

"That was one of my favorite interviews of all time," said Yeargan. "And I don't say that to be hyperbolic. Treydan was extremely down to earth, comfortable in his own skin, and had this rare intelligence."
Based on what the Raiders are hoping Yeargan's role will be on this defense, intelligence is key. They would like him to move around, playing multiple defensive back spots, from the line of scrimmage, to the box, to nickel, to the deep part of the field.
Likely the main reason Yeargan gushed so much about Treydan's intelligence is because he ran a 4.33 40-yard-dash. So, to have the smarts to go with that kind of speed had to be the clincher for the Raiders that likely had them pretty excited Stukes was on the board when they were on the clock at 38.
