Shannen Doherty's ex-husband, photographer Kurt Iswarienko, is challenging their divorce settlement a year and a half after her death at 53.
Back in November, Doherty's estate filed a legal petition alleging that Iswarienko, who was married to the Charmed star for 11 years before she filed for divorce in 2023, had failed to fulfill certain "monetary obligations" that were outlined in the settlement. Doherty signed that settlement on July 12, 2024, and it was finalized the next day, after Iswarienko added his signature. Doherty died after a years-long battle with cancer that same day.
Now, Iswarienko has responded to the estate's claims with a legal motion of his own. In documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday, Iswarienko claims that his settlement with Doherty was brought in the wrong court. Per PEOPLE, Wednesday's new filing thereby argues that the court has no jurisdiction to enforce the terms that Doherty's estate alleges he has failed to comply with.

Entertainment Weekly has reached out to an attorney for Iswarienko and a representative of the Shannen Doherty Family Trust for comment.

In the November motion filed by Doherty's attorneys and Christopher Cortazzo, trustee of the Shannen Doherty Family Trust, her estate claimed that Iswarienko was out of compliance with terms relating to a piece of real estate, a cache of photographs of Doherty Iswarienko is said to possess, and more.
The filing noted that Doherty and Iswarienko's settlement laid out a provision charging Iswarienko with the sale of Doherty's home in Dripping Springs, Tex., but Iswarienko has yet to list the property, according to the filing, which also claimed that he refuses to return a number of Doherty's belongings, and has also failed both produce an inventory of his photographs of the actress, and hand over copies of those photographs.
In Wednesday's filing, Iswarienko contends that Cortazzo has "failed to show he has authority under the trust" to demand Iswarienko comply with the settlement's terms in the first place.
In December 2023, Doherty revealed when she decided her relationship with Iswarienko was over after 11 years. Before going into surgery to remove a brain tumor, Doherty learned "that my husband had been carrying on an affair for two years," she said on her Let’s Be Clear with Shannen Doherty podcast. He wanted to accompany her to her surgery, she said, but "I couldn't go into that surgery with him there. I felt so betrayed."
