The Verity star's third monologue featured her friend (and Patient Zero video costar) Taylor Swift.

The week before Dakota Johnson hosted Saturday Night Livefor her third time on October 3 —just days ahead of her new film, Verity, hit theaters — she made headlines for another project. The actress co-starred in her friend Taylor Swift's "Patient Zero" video. And the singer-songwriter brought it full circle with a surprise cameo in Johnson's SNL monologue.

Swift's appearance preceded sketches like the pretapes "Mean, Scary Girlfriend" and "Guns for Women," and sketches including "Gossip," another showcase for Season 52 Featured PlayerJeremy Culhane.

Taylor Swift joked about playing therapist to Dakota Johnson on SNL

Johnson had been poking fun at her publicly-known love life, joking, "What else has happened since the last time I hosted? Well, I went through two very public, very lame breakups with two very awesome musicians."

"Some of them don't wear shoes. Some of them are terrible in bed. But all of them are in my DMs," she joked later in the monologue. "It's not my fault, though. Some people leave concerts with merch, and I leave concerts with a two-and-a-half year relationship," she added.

"I have really good friends. They don't judge me for dating these men. They're actually really supportive," Johnson continued. As the Studio 8H audience began to scream, Johnson introduced her "literal therapist" Taylor Swift.

"I'm not I'm not your therapist actually," Swift deadpanned. You just you just show up once a week at my house with a empty bottle of wine and ask if I want some."

"Yeah, well I have manners!" Johnson protested.

The "Cleveland!" singer went on to jokingly describe Johnson's behavior, finishing with, "...And then I give you a Pedialite and my security drives you home."
