During a recent episode of The View, co-host Whoopi Goldberg addressed her name appearing in the Epstein files and being linked to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein
Goldberg, 70, alleged that her name appeared on the files because she was searching for a private plane to fly her to a charity event
"You used to have to have facts before you said stuff," Goldberg said during the episode
Whoopi Goldberg has addressed her name being found in the Epstein files, insisting it doesnât mean sheâs guilty of any wrongdoing.
In an episode of The View that aired Tuesday, Feb. 17, Goldberg talked about her name being in the Epstein files, evidence collected by the Department of Justice in relation to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Goldberg, 70, addressed the matter with co-hosts Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and Sara Haines saying, âIn the name of transparency, my name is in the files. Yes. And what does it say? It says, âWhoopi needs a plane to get to Monaco. John Lennonâs charityâ â it should say Julian Lennonâs charity â âis paying for it."
She went on to explain that the charity was reaching out to private plane owners in order to arrange for her transportation.
"They give all the information. And theyâre saying, âDo you want to offer your G2?â " she added.
Hostin interjected and said, âAnd it looks like they said, âNo thanks.â
Thatâs when Behar gave her two cents, adding, "So, in other words, anybody could be on this list.â
âAnybody," Goldberg agreed. "This is my point, because Iâm telling you, when people are trying to turn me into⊠I wasnât his girlfriend, I wasnât his friend."

âYou used to have to have facts before you said stuff,â she added.
Behar then turned her focus to President Donald Trump and his reported apperances in the Epstein files, saying, âBut Trump is on the list 38,000 times.â
âI canât speak for him, but Iâm speaking about me because Iâm getting dragged!" Goldberg said. "People actually believe I was with him. Honey, come on. Every man Iâve ever been with, youâve known about.. People wrote about this."
"And no, I didnât get on the plane," she continued. "Because you know what I would have to do to get on the plane?â Goldberg
"Fly," Behar answered, referencing her co-host's documented fear of flying.
This isn't the first time Goldberg has made it clear she had no ties to Epstein and never visited his island.
In a January 2024 episode of The View, she shut down rumors that she frequented the billionaire's infamous island.
"Apparently, they said I was on the island. And I donât go anywhere!â Goldberg said. âThereâs just been a lot of stuff recently, I donât know what Iâve done to anybody â but apparently there are a lot of the [tabloid] sites [and] people donât realize they can be harmful.â

The talk show exchange came just a few days after U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi sent a letter to Congress, announcing that the DOJ had released all of the files they were ordered to by the Epstein Files Transparency Act.
However, Epstein survivors and members of Congress alike have questioned the truth of that statement, given that some of the documents in the files were heavily redacted and others appeared to be removed from the website after being posted.
"These materials could have been released long ago, but they're just being released now," Maryland Rep. Jamie Raskin, a Democrat, told reporters on Feb. 9.
"I think that the Department of Justice has been in a cover-up mode for many months and has been trying to sweep the entire thing under the rug," he added.
