Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were forced to speak out following a scary security breach, with a royal expert suggesting it could help strengthen their case for heightened security.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex criticized photographers who were seen looking into the grounds of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet's school. A spokesperson for the couple branded the photographers "extraordinarily reckless" and accused them of an "unacceptable intrusion into the privacy of children."
According to reports, there were two paparazzi at the scene, with the pair seemingly working together. Now, royal expert Lynn Carratt has suggested the incident stengthens Harry's argument for security, but questioned whether it should be the Sussexes or taxpayers who foot the bill.

Speaking exclusively to The Express US, Lynn said, "I think this incident certainly strengthens Harry's argument that his family faces genuine security and privacy concerns. If photographers are allegedly walking around the perimeter of his children's school, looking into the grounds and monitoring children as they come and go, it's obvious why Harry and Meghan feel they need proper security."
However, she continued, "But I personally don't believe that automatically means the British taxpayer should be paying for their day-to-day protection."

Lynn pointed out how Harry and Meghan "made the decision to step back as working royals" and have now "made the decision to return to live in the UK."

The pair stepped down as senior working royals in 2020 before moving to Montecito, California, to start a new life. They returned to live in the UK in August.
Lynn continued, "They are also likely to have the financial means to fund private security themselves, so I think their everyday security should come out of their own pocket."
While Lynn suggested Harry and Meghan should pay for their own private security, she suggested this should change if they reunite with the royal family.
"Although if Harry and Meghan are attending an official royal event or an occasion where they are there in a royal capacity. In those circumstances, I can understand publicly funded protection being provided as part of the wider security operation," the expert said.
She concluded, "This latest incident certainly appears to demonstrate why they need protection, particularly when their children are involved. Whatever anyone thinks about Harry and Meghan, Archie and Lilibet are young children and they should be able to go to school without photographers allegedly monitoring the grounds."
Harry has repeatedly tried to obtain greater security for his family when in the UK.
Last year, the Duke of Sussex lost a legal challenge over his family's security. He had tried to overturn a decision which downgraded his security after he stepped down as being a working royal.
